WOW-exhibitionThis Autumn sees the hotly anticipated 'WOW' exhibition open at the City Museum.  The exhibition features lots of fascinating facts about the world of natural history, and has many interesting specimens on display, including a hippo skull and some live beetles!

The 'Tudor Faces' exhibition has now come down and the full collection of Gloucester's twelve Tudor Portraits are about to be evaluated, to look into the conservation needed to preserve them for future generations to enjoy.  The exhibition was a great success and really helped to raised the profile of the works and create better understanding of how important this collection is to Gloucester and it's people.

The Folk Museum's touring gallery explores the lives of the people of Gloucester on the homefront during The Great War, with 'What did you do in the Great War, Gloucester?'  Open now until January 2015.

Gloucester-Spa Thanks to the national 'Your Paintings' project, the entire collection of oil paintings within the Gloucester Museums Service collection is now available to view online.

To view the collection visit Your Paintings| and search for 'Gloucester'.  Due to the size of the collection, we are not able to display all these works within the museums at any one time.  If you'd like to take a closer look at a particular piece you find online and are able to visit the museums, please let us know by emailing us at museums@gloucester.gov.uk| and we may be able to arrange a viewing with the curator.

A collection of prints and postcards based on artworks in the collection will soon be available from both museum shops.  Please email us at the above address if you would like to pre-order specific prints.
