We have a varied programme of talks and tours taking place for 2015, including a special talk entitled 'Gloucester Rugby Football Club and the Great War' (19th September), looking at the lives of Gloucester Rugby players who fought for our Country during WWI.  We also have the regular programme of monthly Culture Club talks.

We have regular tours of the Roman Eastgate Chamber running throughout the summer, with special tours taken by Lucius Sita (our resident Roman Soldier in full uniform).  Download the brochure by following the link on the left, or click on the 'Events' tab above to find the full list of tours.

This summer welcomes the hotly anticipated 'WOW Rugby!' exhibition open in the City Museum Touring Gallery.  The exhibition features lots of fascinating objects, information, interactives, and original artwork, and is open from 4th July until 31st October.

The Folk Museum's touring gallery explores the world of the Womens Institute, and celebrates 100 years since the Women's Voluntary Organisation formed.  With lots of fascinating items on display it's certainly worth a visit.

Gloucester-Spa Thanks to the national 'Your Paintings' project, the entire collection of oil paintings within the Gloucester Museums Service collection is now available to view online.

To view the collection visit Your Paintings| and search for 'Gloucester'.  Due to the size of the collection, we are not able to display all these works within the museums at any one time.  If you'd like to take a closer look at a particular piece you find online and are able to visit the museums, please let us know by emailing us at| and we may be able to arrange a viewing with the curator.

A collection of prints and postcards based on artworks in the collection will soon be available from both museum shops.  Please email us at the above address if you would like to pre-order specific prints.

Click on the 'download brochure' link on the left hand side of this page to download the current Museums list of activities and events.  These include the 'Museum Makers' workshops for children, weekly Crafty Corners at the City Museum, and terrific trails that change monthly at the Folk Museum.  Plenty to do all the year round!
