Richard-Wilison-A-lake-with-a-pavillion-and-a-statue The 'Richard III, Duke of Gloucester' exhibition was a huge success, and gave visitors a chance to get up close with the King himself, and to meet the team who were at the heart of the 'Looking for Richard' project.  We are in the process of scheduling further talks for early 2015.

The full collection of Gloucester's twelve Tudor Portraits are now on display together for the first time in living memory.  'Tudor Faces, The Gloucester Portraits' is on at the City Museum until 5th July 2014.

The Folk Museum's touring gallery plays host to a world of 'Sporting Gloucester', featuring a selection of local stories of sporting achievements, open until 26th April 2014.  From 17th May the Folk Museum will be exploring the lives of the people of Gloucester on the homefront during The Great War, with 'What did you do in the Great War, Gloucester?'  Opening from 17th May 2014 - January 2015.

Gloucester-Spa Thanks to the national 'Your Paintings' project, the entire collection of oil paintings within the Gloucester Museums Service collection is now available to view online.

To view the collection visit Your Paintings| and search for 'Gloucester'.  Due to the size of the collection, we are not able to display all these works within the museums at any one time.  If you'd like to take a closer look at a particular piece you find online and are able to visit the museums, please let us know by emailing us at| and we may be able to arrange a viewing with the curator.

A collection of prints and postcards based on artworks in the collection will soon be available from both museum shops.  Please email us at the above address if you would like to pre-order specific prints.
