2016 starts with a bang as the 'European Art Quilts VIII' Exhibition runs within the City Museum Touring Gallery until 5th March.  Featuring over 40 works the exhibition showcases the medium of art quilting as a form of modern art, and it's not difficult to understand why once you view this world-class exhibition.

Following on from 'European Art Quilts VIII' is the hugely anticipated exhibition 'The Tudor Child', which looks at clothing and culture from 1485 to 1625.  A fully-illustrated guide book is available now from the City Museum, although you'll need to be quick as they're selling fast!

Gloucester-Spa Thanks to the national 'Your Paintings' project, the entire collection of oil paintings within the Gloucester Museums Service collection is now available to view online.

To view the collection visit Your Paintings| and search for 'Gloucester'.  Due to the size of the collection, we are not able to display all these works within the museums at any one time.  If you'd like to take a closer look at a particular piece you find online and are able to visit the museums, please let us know by emailing us at museums@gloucester.gov.uk| and we may be able to arrange a viewing with the curator.

A collection of prints and postcards based on artworks in the collection will soon be available from both museum shops.  Please email us at the above address if you would like to pre-order specific prints.
